Feliz Cumpleanos a Mi

  • Mood: Major Headache
  • Currently: One Tree Hill Season 3 Premiere

Ah, my birthday was a success. Birthdays are not that big of a deal to me - apparently they are to others as they demonstrated in their overwhelming support and gift-giving. I loved it. Thanks to everyone who sent flowers, or balloons, or cookies, or cake, or called or mailed or did anything for me for my birthday. Thanks especially to Megan for being the best roommate ever and decorating the door and for letting me know it's still so cool to be a kid with your gifts of fun socks, coloring books, and silly putty. Woot! Oh, and our first hug - I liked it. It was nice to be hugged. Thanks. I miss hugs. Look what you did to me Buffy, you good influential person, you, I like hugs now - How dare you!

My head hurt really badly after the 6k. Personally, I liked that we did a shout-out to me for my birthday for the hands-in at the end of the test. I felt special. And then my big, Melissa, brought me fun balloons and I did better on my 6k by 3 whole seconds (I think that's technically a lot) I definitely would have quit if Ally hadn't been there cheering me on the whole time. Gotta love team support. Man, that test is so hard - it takes so much out of you. I feel like shit after I'm done. I literally dry heaved my stomach was churning so badly. You're not supposed to heave on your birthday!

People came up to my room to eat cookie cake and sing happy birthday. I have a humongogimonstrous birthday card that the entire 5th floor Adele signed! Woot. Yes, Emily, Katie is the best birthday card maker ever. I am so thrilled with the turnout of the entire day. I wasn't expecting any of it. I do wish I could have two more hugs though. Birthday hugs that I just can't get from anyone else. Well, I'll be home next weekend, and we can take care of at least one of those.

Ah. I'm excited for the weekend. Four days of nothingness. Actually, on Monday my mentor is taking me to the Egypt exhibit at the Dayton Art Institute with her husband.  Yay. Other than that I'm going to turn off alarms, scrapbook, watch tv, read a book, sleep. Most importantly - SLEEP!

Call me, I'm sure I'll be bored after 20 minutes.

"Why aren't you renouncing Satan?"

  • Mood: Nervous (6k tomorrow)
  • Currently: Watching Charmed

Lorelai: A woman after my own heart...or my father's! I mean, why else would she not renounce Satan? Uh, I'd definately approve of those nuptials.

It was an effing great episode. Man, Papi, I miss watching it with you so much. You would have loved watching this episode with me. I laughed and talked to the tv like no other. It felt so good to have my tv life back for even one night. Remember that Tuesday last year, when I had a meeting at work at 9 and we were watching One Tree Hill before I had to leave. I forgot to tell you that I was taping the show so you called me on my way to work and left a message telling me how it ended? That was so cute! This summer we'll have to watch some of the tv seasons I have to catch up. Maybe I won't work so much this summer. Maybe I'll have more time for family. But, technically, work was the next best thing last summer, I did love my job, one of them at least. I definately miss it, that's for sure. I miss the time involvement it required. I miss the connection with the people. I miss the responsibility and the thrill of the sale (believe me, when you don't have it for two months, you begin to realize just how much a thrill it was...just wait) Dang! I really miss that place. I feel a tear welling...

Anyway. After the amazing episode of Gilmore Girls this evening, it was 10:05. I screamed at Amanda, one of the girls I was watching it with, that it was 10:05 and gave a high five. We had discussed yesterday the difference between cool birthdays and bad birthdays. We decided that birthdays before the 12th of the month were better than the rest because there are 12 months in the year. All the other birthdays suck. But, we decided that since we have the coolest birthdays of the year, we can grant other people with birthdays later in the month privilages of cool people. Then Megan looked at me and asked, "Since when does the day begin at 10:05?"  I looked at her and said, "No, Dear, it's ten o' five, my birthday is ten oh five! Get it?" Then she replied, "Fire me as your roommate, just fire me right now!" I was like, "Megan, simmer down, it's okay. I didn't have a pre-requisite that my roommate had to be able to understand every tiny thing that came out of my mouth. Relax, you only passed your first 'I speak Cassie' test yesterday. You're doing great!" And then she sighed with relief, remembering that she had, in fact, passed the test yesterday and was impressed with herself. We're so silly. She makes me laugh. That's a good thing. I need to laugh as much as possible. Besides, I have her saying 'effing' now. That's so great!

Perma-Grin

  • Mood: Headache
  • Currently: Watching Supernatural

I've had a Perma-grin on my face all week. Why, you ask? Cuz somebody loves me! I woke up Monday morning, fought with myself over the pros and cons of checking my email and Xanga, The evil side won (go figure, considering my father and all). Miss Buffy left me a sweet little note that put me in the clouds all week. It even kept me going through the horrible news that I have to row a 6k on my birthday next week. You gotta love the ones that can put smiles on your face. You just gotta!

Well, if you're reading this you have been granted access to my new site. I wish it could look better than it does but I just don't have the time or the skills to make it spectacular so you'll just have to settle with it the way it is. I'm thinking about taking some web designing class next semester but it all depends on the other classes I have to take first. I have to take atleast 17 credit hours each semester just to graduate in four years. I'll probably have to take more like 19! Ick.

I am so excited to come home. You all have no idea. I miss my bed and my room and my mom and my dad and my Piper and my Buffy and my job (technically I can't get that back, but I've been thinking about it and missing it a lot lately. No lies). I can't wait to see everyone, get/give hugs, get licks from my doggy, shoot defenseless birdies, fly on airplanes, etc. I can't wait. I just need a break, too. This place is cool and all, I just want to go home for a little bit.

Hmmm. I'm trying this new blog for a while. We'll see how much traffic I get. I'd like it to replace Xanga but if no one is paying attention to me here I might have to return to Xanga. We'll see. Let me know what you think of this blog compared to the famous Xanga. Also, let me know what you think of my new site in general. Feel free to head on over to the guestbook and have a word or two. Please, be my guest.
